About HASSAN EDAN
HASSAN EDAN is a frozen seafood shop in Epping, in Melbourne's north, run by Hassan Edan. It started as a way to buy shellfish in sensible quantities without paying restaurant mark-ups for a single dinner.
The catalogue covers the things we cook most: lobster tails, langoustine, black tiger prawns, mantis shrimp, hairy crab, squid, clams, razor clam, sea snail and sea cucumber. Each is frozen on arrival and stored at -18C until it is boxed.
Why we sell seafood frozen
A freezer is the only pantry that keeps shellfish in restaurant condition for months without preservatives.
How an order is packed and sent
We use a foil-lined insulated bag inside a double-walled carton, with dry gel ice calculated from the weight and the delivery zone rather than a fixed number of packs. Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days and delivery is estimated at 7 to 14 business days depending on where you are in Australia. Tracking is emailed as soon as the parcel leaves Epping.
Built for Melbourne's north
Greenfields Drive is a quiet residential street, so we do not run a shopfront. Everything is packed to order, labelled with species and net weight, and sent with tracking. Questions about an order, a cut or a cooking method are answered by email or phone, Monday to Friday.
